Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading or using Cooked ("the app"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The Service

Cooked lets you extract structured recipes from cooking videos, images, and text using AI. You need an account to save recipes. An active subscription is required to use the app's main features beyond the onboarding demo.

3. Subscriptions, Free Trial, and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID by the Apple App Store.
  • The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You will be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled. You can cancel at any time from iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • Refund requests are handled by Apple per their App Store Terms.
  • Prices may change; we will notify you in-app before any price increase takes effect for your subscription.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app to extract content you do not have the right to access
  • Submit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent rate limits, or abuse our AI services
  • Use the app to harass others or engage in illegal activity

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Third-Party Content and Links

Recipes extracted from third-party videos or websites are attributed where possible. Cooked does not own the original videos or websites and is not responsible for their content. Use of any third-party content is subject to that content's own terms.

6. AI-Generated Content

Recipes are generated by an AI model and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Always use your own judgment, especially regarding allergens, cooking times, and food safety. Cooked makes no warranty about the accuracy of extracted content.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create (custom recipes, photos, notes). You grant us a limited license to store and display it within the app for your own use. We do not sell or publicly share your content.

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account from Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your recipes, collections, grocery items, and account. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Apple subscription; cancel that separately in iPhone Settings → Subscriptions.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Cooked is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
